Three day beginner sailing course, with or without a team!
Spend the weekend sailing through the beautiful Kornati and Zadar archipelagos under the guidance of an experienced skipper and master the basics of sailing, navigation and boat maneuvering.
Beginner sailing course is the perfect way to escape the city and the hectic pace of everyday life. Bring home unforgettable memories and new experiences.
At the end of the course, all participants will receive a diploma of successfully completed course.
The course is organized throughout the whole year.
Apartment accomodation is provided during the winter, in Sali on island of Dugi Otok.
Beginner sailing course is done on sailboats up to 40ft, depending on the size of the group.
You will be settled in the boat after the meeting with the skipper. The skipper will advise you about grocery procurement and meal planning for the next three days (we recommend preparing breakfast and lunch on board together, and dinner in a local tavern / tavern or apartment). Before departure you will get the script with theory that you will put into practice through these three days with skipper. The planned departure from the port of Zadar is around 09 o'clock. After departure, you will get acquainted with the parts of the sailboat and sails (basic terminology, working principle and everything else needed for safe sailing).
Sails will be raised for the first time under the guidance of a skipper after passing through the channel Ždrelac . The planned route is the channel Zdrelac-Island Krknata. Due to its sandy composition, the waters of the island of Krknata are ideal for anchoring, followed by a lunch break. After a lunch break, sailing to Sali-Dugi otok. During both sails you will learn how to set the sails and where each crew member must be at a certain time. You will learn the rules of avoiding collisions at sea, the knots you need for sailing and you will master tack ( turn in the wind ) and gybe ( turn downwind). The planned arrival in Sali is in the afternoon, followed by a practice of maneuvering the boat. The skipper will teach you the basics of navigation throughout the voyage. The planned overnight stay for the first day is in port of Sali,Dugi Otok.
For the second day the plan is sailing through Kornati archipelago. The Kornati archipelago consists of about 150 islands and covers an area of 320 km2 and is the most indented island ecosystem in the Adriatic Sea. Throughout the day, the skipper will teach you the basics of navigation, sailing and maneuvering a boat. The planned return to the port of Sali is in the afternoon followed by a review of the previous two days, dinner together and relaxation with a few drinks.
You will spend the third day of beginner sailing course sailing from Sali,Dugi Otok to Zadar and as in the previous two days You will practice sailing, navigation and maneuvering a boat. One stop is planned on the island of Ugljan during the voyage to Zadar. The plan is the same as in the previous two days. The planned return to the port of Zadar is in the late afternoon.
Price for beginner sailing course includes: sailing boat, accommodation, skipper and fuel cost.
Price excludes: food and drinks, port fees and national park entrance fee.
